Performance Season

NOLA Contemporary Ballet maintains an annual mainstage performance season, serving more than 10,000+ patrons in south Louisiana. Each season we offer three full-scale dance theater productions and a series of community performance projects on the Northshore and across the state of Louisiana. From original works to re-imagined dance classics, the company presents a dynamic array of cross-disciplinary dance productions each season, bringing world-class performances to the community.

In the summer months, NOLA Contemporary Ballet turns its focus to its pre-professional programs. Our Summer Performance Series runs June - July each year and features the NOLA Contemporary Ballet Youth Ensemble as well as national and international professional guest artists. The Summer Performance Series gives pre-professional dancers ages 15-18 summer performance opportunities, and college dancers 18 and up returning home for the summer paid internship and performance opportunities.

Youth Programs

NOLA Contemporary Ballet exposes students and young adults to the world of professional dance through our pre-professional training programs and youth outreach programs.  We believe in the many benefits of dance education and exposing youth in the community to professional dance. We work in partnership with community and non-profit partners to provide dance enrichment, after-school and summer programs for youth, ages 5-18 years old. We know that through strong partnerships and collaborations, we can make a strong, healthy, vibrant community of young artists and arts patrons.

Our Youth programs currently include:

  • St. Tammany Dance Day A free day of dance for the St. Tammany Public School System presented annually

  • Ballet and Books A partnership with the St. Tammany Public Library

  • Flourish Summer Dance Intensive

  • K12 Dance in Schools

  • NOLA Contemporary Ballet Youth Ensemble

The NOLA Contemporary Ballet Youth Ensemble is a professional training and performance program for exceptionally talented pre-professional dancers ages 15-18.
